Friday Music Blog-Christmas Star Power

Welcome to the Friday Music Blog on Chief 187™Chatter.

I truly enjoy it when rock stars and pop stars turn out their own Christmas album or single. Some are obvious marketing ploys while others are true gems in the Christmas music offerings.

Music, of course, being subjective, I pose the question to you. What are your favorite Christmas songs – both original compositions and/or traditional songs with the artist’s take – by your favorite rock/pop star?

Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, and George Michaels created modern classics while nearly every boy band and tween dream star has recorded a perfunctory Christmas album. I’m curious to know your selections in this category.

Please check on the progress of this blog throughout the day and weekend as new entries are added periodically.

Weekends still are and will always be an ideal time to use Chief 187™Chatter and catch up on all that you may have missed.

  1. Call me a neo Punk but Christmas '79 a school friend bought me a record, that charted at number 39 in March earlier that year, which ever since has remained my seasonal favorite :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VNUyjRRjxM

  2. I'm kinda partial to the Jethro Tull Christmas Album and Sarah Maclachlan's Wintersong Album.

  3. LOVE the Drifter's version of White Christmas (love singing my heart out to it). Frank Sinatra gives me chills with his vocals on The Christmas Waltz. And there's Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby...so many good songs!

  4. My favorite has to be John Denver and the Muppets...it may sound ridiculous (but what do I know-I'm a Jew), but it isn't Christmas without that CD...
