Monday Movie Blog

Welcome to the Monday Movie Blog on Chief 187 Chatter. It’s been a very hot week in my part of the world and escaping to the movie theater is very enticing. With three children of varying ages it isn’t always convenient to run to the local theater to watch the latest flick without hiring a sitter. The Monday Movie Blog has consistently gathered your selections for movies of all different genres as a resource to utilize when looking for a good film to watch. As the mercury continued to rise I zoomed to my archived Monday Movie Blogs to find a winner. Now it’s time to add to the queue!

Today’s focus is movies that are based on comic book characters. List any and all movies that are based on comic book characters from the past or present. Remember to list the actors in the film and include a small synopsis or review.

To access previous Monday Movie Blogs, simply type “Monday Movie Blog” in the Search feature in the upper left hand corner of this page. Please leave your movie selections based on comic book characters below. I invite you to join me tomorrow for the most uplifting post of the week, Simple Joys.

  1. I kinda liked Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. The Dark Knight with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger was also a good flick.

  2. Here's a bit of a throwback that I really enjoy Popeye! With Robin Williams& Shelley Duvall I think this movie adaptation of the comic strip was really clever and better than any otther at keeping the comic book feel yet bringing it to" life". The casting was perfect as well as set design and location !

  3. I'm with Racer. I also enjoyed Batman w/Keaton & Nicholson. However, Kim Basinger seemed very miscast.

Superman with the late great Christopher Reeves.

Spiderman with Tobey Maquire. Woo hoo!

I am looking forward to seeing Smurfs, although I'm not sure they are from a comic book.
