Welcome to the Friday Music Blog on Chief 187 Chatter. Fully in my summer routine, enjoying fun in the sun, swimming, relaxing, and spending time with my kids, I realize how much music means to my everyday life. From singing in the car with my children to belting out my favorite tunes in the shower, and listening to my iPod to hearing live music performed, music turns me on like nothing else. I created the Friday Music Blog years ago to share my passion for music and to pick the brains of those around me to see what other music I could get turned on to. It worked! I’ve been given tons of suggestions, been sent music, and reminded of gems that got lost in my clouded memory. With each week I get excited anew to think that this is another opportunity for me to surround myself with more music!
Today’s focus is your five favorite songs RIGHT NOW! What songs are on heavy rotation in your iPod, constantly on your mind, and get turned up loudly when they come on the radio? Please list the song name as well as the artist who performs it.
Please check back with this post throughout the day and weekend to see what new selections were added. If you are curious to see what other topics have been tackled on the Friday Music Blog on Chief 187 Chatter, simply type “Friday Music Blog” into the “Search” feature on the top left hand corner of this page.
I hope you can all join me again on Monday for another brand new week of original posts! The Monday Movie Blog, upon completing the alphabetical journey started in January, will offer an entirely new topic so please check back for that!

Steve: "Come Thou Fount" is one of my absolute favorites... Since reading your response, I have that in my head now. I'm smiling and relaxed. ;)
Hi Chief- Getting a little tired of my "right now" favorites so going to check out what your other followers listed to find some new ones.

Jules- Favorite John Hiatt song: "Tennessee Plates" Just stampin' out my time makin' Tennessee plates!
Can I add one?
ReplyDeleteI have to add "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow if Alan Cavanna tweets a bunch. When he has multiple tweets in one day I have the song stuck in my head for several days at a time.
That's hilarious, Jules! When I hear David Ragan's name I ALWAYS sing from the Billy Joel song "We Didn't Start the Fire", "David Ragan Palestine, terror on the airline, Ayatollah in Iran, Russians in Afghanistan, Wheel of Fortune, Sally Ride, heavy metal suicide, foreign debt, homeless vets, AIDs, crack, Bernie Getz, hypodermics on the Shore, China's under Martial Law, Rock-N-Roller, Cola Wars, I can't take it anymore!"
ReplyDeleteCertainly takes a long time to do that EVERY TIME, but I do!
Right now, I would have to say my favorite songs are:
ReplyDelete-Diamond Eyes (Boom Lay Boom Lay Boom) by Shinedown
-Let it Die by Ozzy Osbourne
-Forever by Chris Brown
-Shoot it Out by 10 Years
-Life is Beautiful by Sixx A.M.
Honorable mentions go to:
-Proud by Richard Niles (a Biggest Loser song)
-Poker Face by Lady GaGa
-Could it be You (Punk Rock Chick) by H*Wood (got into this song from the softball team that I did a highlight video for)
-Shinedown's CD "Sound of Madness"
-Skillet's CD "Awake"
Erin, I'm a big fan of "Poker Face" performed by Lea Michelle and Idina Menzel from Glee last year. If you haven't heard it, check it out! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you make this a regular stop in your busy schedule! :-)
