Monday Media Blog-Dads

Welcome to the Monday Media Blog on Chief 187™Chatter.

Yesterday was Father’s Day, a day to reflect on the importance of your dad in your life. Hopefully you spent the day talking with, visiting, or thinking about your father on his special day. Whether he's with you or gone to the great beyond, it is my hope that you felt kinship for him on his day.

As I’ve stated before, television was a large part of my childhood, especially watching programming about families.

Father’s like Tom Bradford of Eight is Enough, Howard Cunningham on Happy Days, Steven Keaton of Family Ties, Jason Seaver of Growing Pains, and Heathcliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show characterized fathers of all kinds with the thread of decency and love they all shared.

So, in honor of Father’s Day – and, yes, Dads deserve an extra day/week of celebration in their honor – who were/are your favorite television fathers?

One of mine from current television is Kurt Hummel’s father on Glee, Burt Hummel.

Beautifully written and acted, Burt is a fallible yet staunchly loving and accepting father to his son and those he cares about passionately. His character makes me laugh and cry, usually within one episode of the program!

Looking forward to reading about your favorite television dads!

Happy Father’s Day once again to all of the dads who read Chief 187™Chatter!
