Monday Movie Blog

{EAV_BLOG_VER:aed094dcf4465715}

Welcome in to a special edition Monday Movie Blog on this July 4th! For the final time the alphabetical odyssey we began back in January will be played out here. Six months of listing our favorite movies in alphabetical order culminates with today’s entry. We are left with a wonderful resource for all to share and continue to add to as the month and years unfold.

Today’s focus is movies that begin with the letter “Z”. List any and all movies that begin with the letter “Z” while also including the stars of the film and a brief synopsis or review. To access any archived Monday Movie Blogs on Chief 187 Chatter, simply type “Monday Movie Blog” into the “Search” function in the upper left hand corner of this page.

As it is July 4th, I also want to highlight the entry of Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day) when the Monday Movie Blog also featured favorite patriotic/war movies. The address for that blog is http://chief187.blogspot.com/2011/05/monday-movie-blog_30.html (copy and paste into the URL).

Wishing you all a very Happy Birthday to our Beloved Country, the United States of America! Please join me tomorrow for the most uplifting post of the week, Simple Joys!

  1. Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (1973)

    Is a cool documentary about David Bowie at the height of his gender bending glam rock phase.

    Zulu 1964 is an epic tale about 150 British soldiers who defended a supply depot against 4000 Zulu's on 22nd January 1897. This battle led to 11 serviceman being awarded Britain's highest military award the Victoria Cross, more than in any other battle before or since.

    Great performances by Michael Cane and Stanley Baxter make this a riveting film of a genre I usually pay little attention to.

    Happy Independence Day Chief 187 !

  4. Z (1969) Yves Montand. Murder, politics and conspiracy. Very 1969, very French.

    Wow, Zulu. Forgot that one. Nice catch Art. The sound track behind the big attack was one of those scenes where what you heard was at least as scary as what you saw.
