Welcome in to the Monday Movie Blog. As we continue to create a comprehensive list of movies alphabetically I implore you to continue adding your selections. The more movie titles we have the larger our resource becomes. Today’s topic could prove to be challenging, but with a few extra minutes to research your movie database, it will be well worth it.
Today’s topic for the Monday Movie Blog is movies that begin with the letter “I”. Please list the movie name and any stars from the cast. A brief reason why you loved the movie or a short synopsis of the plot is also appreciated.

Oh boy...
ReplyDeleteIdentity- John Cusak and Ray Liotta. Thriller (or tries to be one). Sort of an Agatha Christie type "Ten Little Indians" plot. Twist at the end is kind of a bummer though. Still, there is suspense and I enjoy John Cusak.
Indiana Jones Trilogy- Harrison Ford. Adventure. I will admit I have not seen all of them. But the ones I have seen have been fun! I imagine most people have seen these movies.
Incredibles- Pixar does it again with a family of superheroes trying to save the world and bonding in the process. Not my favorite of the Pixar movies, still enjoyable.
Innerspace- Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid, and Martin Short. Comedy. A miniaturized Dennis Quaid accidentally gets injected into Martin Short's butt instead of a bunny. The hilarity ensues. Released in 1987, it holds that campiness that was the 80's. Oh, and this is where future husband/wife, eventually divorced Dennis Quaid & Meg Ryan meet.
I, Robot- Will Smith. Sci-Fi. It had Will Smith in it and pretty cool looking robots. I don't really remember much else. I think the robots try to take over the world or something. It is supposed to be based on Isaac Asimov's book of the same name, but from what I hear, it doesn't stay very close to it. I'm not much into sci-fi movies, but when Will Smith is in it... I'll take a look. OH, and here I learned the 3 Laws of Robots. ;)
Iron Man- Robert Downey Jr., Gweneth Paltrow. Comic book adventure. I saw this in the movie and really enjoyed it! There were two scenes that I thought were completely unnecessary. I know a bunch of people thought there was too much of Tony Stark building the suit, but that part I enjoyed very much. And hello, RDJ? Hubba, hubba! Very good looking.
Iron Man 2- I liked this one, but preferred the 1st one. I can't look at Mickey Rourke. Gag.
I Am Legend- Will Smith. This was a really good movie and I do believe I've seen it multiple times. Smith plays a researcher who is presumably the last human on earth that wasn't infected with a virus that turned others into vampire like creatures. Again, Will Smith, you can't go too wrong. :)
Independence Day- Will Smith. Aliens want to destroy earth. This should be aired every 4th of July. Hmm... looks like I really like Will Smith. ;)
I Am Sam- Dakota Fanning, Sean Penn. Penn was nominated for an Oscar for this one. A tear-jerker. Fanning plays the daughter to a mentally challenged Penn.
Insomnia- Robin Williams, Pacino, Hillary Swank. Sent from the city to investigate the murder of a teenage girl in a small Alaska town, a police detective (Pacino) accidentally shoots his own partner while trying to apprehend a suspect. Instead of admitting his guilt, the detective is given an unexpected alibi, but this "solution" only multiplies the emotional complexity and guilt over his partner's death. He's also still got a murder to solve, in addition to the blackmail and framing of an innocent bystander being orchestrated by the man they were chasing. There's also a local detective (Swank) who is conducting her own personal investigation... of his partner's death. (I stole this synopsis from IMDb, because I didn't know how to even explain it!)
I.Q.- Meg Ryan, Tim Robbins and Walter Matthau. Romantic-Comedy. Quite possibly my FAVORITE of all these "I" movies. Walter Matthau plays Albert Einstein. Meg Ryan plays his genius, yet scatterbrained niece Catherine and Robbins plays a science interested car mechanic, Ed. Ed is interested in Catherine, but is afraid he isn't smart enough. Einstein likes Ed better than the guy Catherine is engaged to... and finds ways to get them together. Formulaic, but I don't even care. Waaahoooo!
In The Heat Of The Night... Sidney Poitier, Rod Stieger. A black detective from the north helps a racist cop solve a murder in Mississippi.

It Could Happen To You... Nicolas Cage, Bridget Fonda,Rosie Perez. A cop promises to split his Lottery ticket with a waitress.
